The Art of Travel

Why Aviation?  I get asked this so much!  People are always flabbergasted that I am interested in this field.  Why wouldn't I be?  Look at its history.  Not everyone can say that they can fly an airplane or have traveled the world.  Aviation is a luxury.  People to this day still have never been on an airplane.  It confuses me.  I have been on so many!

Aviation.  It is a lifestyle.  A lot of airlines are going away from the traditional flight experience.  Their mentality is "sell as many seats as we can!"  I dream of being able to fly on a Pan American flight.  What a wonderful experience that would have been.

Charleston

For my internship, I get to travel along on some shuttle flights.  For my first trip, I chose CHS [Charleston, SC].  Since we were going to be there all day, I thought I would make the most out of it.  Took the crew car out and ventured into downtown Charleston!  This town was gorgeous.  The architecture and atmosphere made it feel like you were taking a stroll in the early 1900s .  Carriages were everywhere.  Take a peek at what my day was filled with!

Market street was such an amazing experience!  The history behind it was very interesting.  This was where they used to buy and sell their slaves.

Stopped for lunch at a restaurant by the harbor.  Beautiful view and great food.

Maybe one day?  I hope to own this VW bus or an Airstream one day!

Like I said before, the architecture was impeccable.  The entrance to the buildings were also stunning. Every time I walked past a door, I snapped a photo.

What a wonderful way to spend six hours, right?

Hard Day at Work!

Today I got to experience the fun part of my internship!  Taking a trip to KPIE (St. Petersburg - Clearwater, FL) on the Hawker 900XP.  It was a great experience and I am so happy I got to go with on this flight.  Let me tell you, jump seating on a plane like this is not so comfortable, but the pilots made it better!

It was a great day to go down to Florida.  The sun was shining, people were everywhere around the town and everyone was smiling!  I wish I could have been able to hang out on the beach, but we didn't have enough time for that.  Oh well!

On a side note, I made stuffed artichokes tonight.  Yum!
