My Eyes are Opened

Between reading this book, Eating Animals, and watching this movie, Food Inc., I am kind of on a kick about eating right. I was shocked by what is going on in our world today. It actually frightens me. How could our government, who is there to protect us, actually harm us?

To me, this isn't about being a vegetarian and eating right and blah blah blah.  It is about knowing where our food comes from.  Too many families just go through the drive thru at a fast food restaraunt and get the cheapest meal (which is probably terrible for them) just because it is more convenient for them.  I bet they don't know what was in that hamburger they just ate, or if it contained high fructose corn syrup.  Humans should be aware of what is going into their food and where it comes from.  But it is so hard for them to do that.

Anyways, if you are hungry for change, please try and add this to your lifestyle. Instead of taking the easy way out, try these difficult, yet simple changes!

1.  Shop at your locals Farmers Market!  If you are unsure if your city has one, look here!
2.  Before you buy something at the grocery store, look for organic, locally grown produce.
3.  When you go out to eat, try and support a restaraunt that is local.
